Chicago Teamsters Hispanic Caucus Scholarship

The Chicago Teamsters Hispanic Caucus (CTHC) developed the CTHC scholarship as part of our commitment to help strengthen the communities we serve by ensuring a strong future for our children. We hope to help instill in our children the values that have made both the Hispanic culture and the Teamsters Union a Valuable part of the Chicagoland area.

All applicants for the 2025 CTHC scholarship must comply with the following criteria.

• Be an active Teamsters member or be the child, grandchild or spouse of a Teamster member in good standing with the Teamsters Union.
• Be a current CTHC member or be the child, grandchild or spouse of a current CTHC member.
• Submit a completed 2025 CTHC scholarship Application Form.
• Submit a typed essay not to exceed two double spaced pages discussing one of the following:

1. HOW ORGANIZED LABOR HAS IMPACTED THE HISPANIC AND OTHER IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES IN THE UNITED STATES?
   
2.  HOW YOU WILL USE YOUR EDUCATION TO BENEFIT YOUR COMMUNITY?

• Attend an accredited college or university full-time (minimum 12 credits).
• Submit official school transcripts or high school transcripts if you will be a freshman in the fall.
• submit a letter of recommendation on official school letterhead from a teacher of professor.
• Submit a letter of good standing from your Teamsters Local for active members or for a child, of grandchild of an active Teamsters member a letter of Good Standing from their sponsor's Teamsters local.

Any application that is incomplete, does not contain all of the necessary documents, and/or is not submitted postmarked no later than August 1st, 2025 will be rejected. Any misleading information provided to the CTHC will result in automatic disqualification from consideration or revocation of scholarship award. CTHC reserves the right to request proof of family relationships. All decisions of the CTHC Scholarship Committee are final.
